Possibility to pay in any currency around is good for buyers, but for vendors this is not an option as the payment is converted immediately to USD.
Only one USD account/balance is very limitative for vendors who have to receive in other currency at end of month.
This is a thing Paypal has and I miss in Plimus e-commerce system. The possibility to have balances in other currencies, or, at least, the possibility to choose the currency of our vendor account.
Can we European euro-zone vendors expect this feature for soon? The Euro/Dollar currency exchange fluctuations are inflicting losses to European vendors, and this is the thing almost all potential, and current, Plimus vendors point as the big fault of the Plimus service.
I don't know much about what this involve in terms of bureaucracy, but its implementation will for sure be the more important feature you guys can add to this already wonderful system.
I'm sure many of you that are reading this think the same, so, lets push the idea, to see if this wish arrive to the Plimus correct person.
Or at least provide better
Or at least provide better exchange rates!
My product is currently priced at 499USD. When I attempt to purchase it in Australian dollars I get 780.79 AUD which gives exchange rate of 1.5647. A quick lookup of USD/AUD exchange rates at xe.com shows that it is 1.49565 today. That's almost 5% markup!
I just had a nasty call from australian customer on this exact topic.
Plimus, 5% markup is outrageous for currency exchange. Every local bank in my country is satisfied with 1.5-2%.
Bump
Subject still pertinent, and not answered by Plimus, so I'm bumping it to see if finally we get a response.
From when, at least, EUR and GBP accounts? E4X is definitively not a good solution for when customer buy in the same currency vendor will by paid by Plimus, and that currency is not USD. To many, unfavorable to vendor, and somehow hidden, currency conversion and rates IMO.
Here I leave a link to an external forum about the same subject. Very informative.
