There's a whole industry providing support services for this. I think it's a good idea to have a look at www.hubspot.com -- they have lots of free advice and if you want to take it any further they have attractively priced services for small businesses.

This is a deep area but I think these guys are on the ball and are a great place to start.

In terms of generating sales -- it's a great idea to build up partners on Plimus and start looking for relevant product lines that you can sell together with your own products and have other vendors sell their products with yours.
