Hi,
I have noticed with the V1.21 updated from 28th Feb 2010 that the Address and Phone number used in the vendor contact information is now being used automatically in the Invoices as a new "Branding" feature.
As I work from home this is now showing my home contact details to my clients.
I consider this to be a breach of Privacy!
I do not give a support phone number or mail address.
I have spoken to Plimus support and they can not remove this information and there is no way to customise the information appearing on the invoices.
No notice was given at all that this was being implemented.
Anyone have any ideas on how to get round this?
Is an issue for you also? Please do speak up if tt is!
Regards,
Vent
same
I feel the same. I was under the impression that the vendor's contact information was for Plimus' use only, I didn't think it would be provided to the customer. I guess I'm a little lucky because my phone number is empty, but I can't do the same to my address because they're all required fields.
Plimus has never mailed or called me (not even tax forms...) so perhaps you can put in obviously bogus data: 000-000-0000 for phone and something just as obvious for address. Oops, it appears they've improved their validity checks. In my sandbox account, I have a phone number of 12345, but it no longer allows that as a valid phone number, nor my suggestion of all 0's.
Correct me if I'm wrong -- the invoice is not emailed to the customer and the only way it's visible is if they view the order details and then click on "View invoice."
Invoices
Hi there,
I am passing these concerns onto our VP Product Management for further consideration.
Thanks,

Cancelling the Branded Invoice Function
Please note: If you prefer not to make use of this feature please open a support ticket asking Vendor Support to immediately cancel the branded invoice function for your account.
Many thanks,
Derek, Plimus
Branding opt out
Thank you very much for this option and for your speedy resolution!
It would have been nice to have just my company logo being displayed, but would certainly prefer my contact details *not* being displayed. Having the Plimus logo displayed instead is acceptable.
Best Regards,
Vent
Thanks
Hi there,
Thanks for your response. We will monitor reaction to this feature and remodel the offering if necessary so that it better fits user requirements.
Your feedback is very valuable and helps us to continually refine functionality.

Yikes!
Same issue here. Thanks for posting this message as I didn't realize it was displaying this private information.
Count me among the vendors who do NOT want their private contact info displayed on the invoices.
Contact Vendor Support & Request For Details to be Excluded
Please contact Vendor Support to make this request effective. I cannot action from the forum.
Thanks, Derek
I opened a ticket yesterday
I opened a ticket yesterday and they did revert my invoices back to the Plimus default (non-branded). Shame, I liked having my logo at the top. If they could have simply removed the phone/address info or made it optional it would probably solve most vendors issues and allow us to have a branded invoice without giving up our personal info.
Or perhaps they could add additional fields specifically for the info displayed on the invoice.

follow-up
I emailed support yesterday and got a response back this morning that they would remove it. As of right now, invoices are still showing the new design. The email did say that "we will remove..." -- perhaps implying it would be done later en masse -- but I just want to confirm that that's the case and my request just didn't get overlooked.
Vent -- have your invoice pages been rolled back yet?
Hi,Yes, the contact
Hi,
Yes, the contact information has been removed and the Plimus logo appears at the top. They did say it would be removed after 12 hours or so however.
I'd like to see a customisable invoice page like the payment pages with required # sections for the legal stuff that Plimus needs but allowing the user to customise the rest.
Hope that helps,
Vent
Making the assumption that
Making the assumption that supplied phone numbers can be given out and that uploaded logos are always suitable for being shown to customers - not a good idea! Many vendors may not even know about this and an old or just temporary image may be being put on invoices. The sort of action that gets businesses wonderful publicity on Risks Digest.
Clarification
I am sharing this thread with our VP Production so that your feedback gets to the highest levels.
Thanks,
Derek, Plimus
This is quite interesting
This is quite interesting discussion, hmm. I asked plimus to cancel the branded invoice for my account too. Let us see. After reading this thread I really find it difficult to conduct business with plimus with peace of mind. :(
Invoice Set Up
Hi there Martha,
I would be very sorry to have you lose your confidence in Plimus on this issue. We received a lot of requests from larger vendors to includes this functionality, but it appears that way we deployed the change was too aggressive for some vendors. As a result we are taking steps to address this misjudgment.
For the moment you can opt out by contacting Vendor Support. We are working to revise this functionality so that it is completely optional.
Many thanks,
Derek, Plimus
Maybe those "vendors" have
Maybe those "vendors" have their corporate offices outside their home so they don't mind displaying their corporate addresses on the invoice (even I would do the same if I were not working from HOME). Personally if I were plimus I would offer vendors two separate forms: one for putting their personal (home address) and other for adding corporate address (which should be made optional, of course). Vendors should be made aware that their corporate addresses would be displayed on their invoices, etc. This is a bit of hard work but I am sure that if Paypal can offer the option to have separate "home" and "business" addresses to its users then Plimus can do the same. I hope that helps you remodel this in a better way.
I would certainly prefer to have a branded invoice with my own logo but like others have said it should NOT display my address/phone unless I choose to.
I initially had chosen "check" as my payment option but due to this fiasco had to switch it to paypal.
