I was trying to register onto a plimus website as im considering using plimus as a payment solution for one of my website...
BUt i got stopped right away by the fact that FREE EMAILS ACCOUNT ARE NOT ACCEPTED !!
"We do not accept email accounts from free email services such as hotmail.com, yahoo.com, etc"
How do you expect end-users not to buy with their gmail or hotmail account ???
I have worked with many online credit card processors AND THIS IS THE FIRST TIME i see one refusing end-users to use free emails account!!
Also what about a paypal user who has his main account under his gmail adress ? This one simply can not pay with Plimus!!
Im still amazed by this. Apart from that Plimus seems like a good solution but this actually would kills all conversion IMHO. Does anyone have any feedback or thoughts about this topic ?
Thanks for your help
Blame the vendor
This is a vendor-configurable option. According to the docs, free email addresses are the main source of fraudulent orders.
Free emails account not accepted
You are talking about two different things. The first is whether Plimus accept you as a customer using a free untracable email address, obviously not. The second is whether you want to accept customers using free untracable email addresses. That is up to you.
Hi
Hello korgggy,
Please note that Plimus doesn't refuse registration to new vendors or affiliates if they use free email accounts. We do require avalid email address to be provided as the activation link is sent to that address.
As mentioned by one of the members below, our vendors have an option to choose if they want to accept orders coming from customers with free email domains. It has been proven that over 90% of Internet fraudulent orders has been originated from free email services and some sellers would prefer to protect themselves from this risk.
I hope this explains it. Let me know if you need additional information.
Best regards,
Ira.
