Plimus at CeBIT - Day 1 Recap

CeBIT is no small affair, as the 18 halls filled with exhibits confirm! By the time all is said and done, the organizers expect as many as half a million attendees to move through the show.

Today's highlight was a visit by Angela Merkel, the Chancellor of Germany. She actually stood (and spoke) not twenty feet from the Plimus booth, although a combination of crowds and security folks meant we couldn't actually see her in the flesh. Her presence, though, along with Spanish Premier Jose Luis Rodriguez Zapatero, clearly indicated the Plimus at Cebit 2010 Hannover importance of this global gathering of high tech force.

We entered the show with a clear intent of introducing the concepts of e-Commerce 3.0, and it’s increasingly clear that the market is on board. The idea of embedding e-Commerce into client applications, and reducing customer friction to the point that buying becomes a genuine pleasure, rang true and loud. In fact, we rather suspect we're going to be busy in demo and implementation mode for several months to come. Layering an API in top of our optimized, globalized, e-Business platform appears to be the right idea at the right time, and we're looking forward to meeting tons more people over the next few days to continue to learn the details that will make this a no-brainer.

Tomorrow we’ll be walking the floors of as many halls as our feet will take us to, understanding better what the market needs, and how e-Commerce 3.0 solutions fit the bill. Watch this space - who knows what treats are in store for us as CeBIT continues. In the meantime here are some photos of our team setting up the Plimus exhibit space.
